If you would like to adopt from M&J Rattery please begin by sending us an email or private message through our Facebook

We will send you a copy of our Adoption Contract and Adoption Application, please read over the contract before filling out the application. 

Adoption Applications are valid for 6 months

We will contact you once we receive your application to finish the approval process. We always try to find the best possible homes for our rats.

 

We adopt out our rats in minimum same sex pairs 

Adoption fees:

Baby Rats (8 weeks or older)=$45 for a same sex pair 

Retired Breeders=$25 for a same sex pair 

When reserving rats we ask for a 25% nonrefundable deposit to be put down at the time of reservation, if you need us to hold rats for more than a week past them turning 8 weeks old we ask for the whole adoption fee to be paid when the rats turn 8 weeks old. If paid in advance this fee is nonrefundable, this is simply to insure you are a serious adopter. 

This deposit can be paid through Paypal (preferred) or Cashapp

We will discount if rats are bought in 3+ groups

*All money goes directly back into caring for the rats!

 

Pickup and Policies:

M&J Rattery is a closed rattery. That simply means I do not allow adopters into the rattery or have the address of our rattery. This is simply a health and safety precaution. 

Located in North Terre Haute, IN.

You are responsible for meeting at the predetermined meeting place and providing your own carrier. You MUST bring your own carrier at time of pickup, if you are traveling more then 40 minutes round trip please be prepared to offer water for the journey home. 

At the time of pickup you will be asked to sign a copy of the Adoption Contract in person.

On day of pickup if for any reason you are running late please contact us, if not contacted we will not wait any longer than 15 minutes past the agreed upon meeting time. 

 

Health Guarantee:

I guarantee rats are free of mites/lice/fleas and respiratory ailments at the time of purchase. I will not be responsible for the treatment of illness after rats have left my care. I am always available to answer any questions/concerns regarding the health of the rats for the duration of their life. It is understood that rats may present with URI like symptoms/soft stool during the first week or so in a new home, this is considered normal.
